This will be a chance for all MCAN members to come together, share ideas, and shape the future of the network. Mark your calendars for 1st of May 2025 and join us for an evening of connection, collaboration, and celebration!
What’s Happening at our Big Blether?
This event is all about bringing members together to reflect on where we’ve been and look ahead to where we’re going. Here’s some of the things in our agenda:
- Introducing the Thematic Circles: We’ll officially launch our new Biodiversity, Food, Energy & Heat, and Reuse, Share & Repair Circles. This are spaces for connection, collaboration, and take action on issues that matter most to you. More information on these here.
- Electing New Steering Group Members: We’ll be selecting new members to join our Steering Group, the team that helps guide the direction of the network. If if you’re passionate about climate action and want to take on a more active role within the network, this is your chance to get involved! We will be releasing more details soon, but in the meanwhile please get in touch with Abi if you’d like more information.
- Upcoming Hub Small Funding Grants: We will be announcing our next round of small funding grants. Different types of grants will be available and they will be open for application over the month of May.
- A Chance to Connect and Socialise: Most importantly, this is a chance to meet fellow members, share your experiences, and celebrate the incredible work happening across our network. There’ll be plenty of time to chat, connect, and enjoy some delicious food together.

The Big Blether is your chance to be part of something bigger, a network of diverse community groups and organisations all united to take action on the climate and nature crises, and build more sustainable and resilient communities. Whether you’re a long-time member or new to the network, this is your opportunity to:
- Learn about new ways to get involved in climate action in Midlothian.
- Share your ideas and help shape the direction of the network.
- Connect with people who share your passion for change.
- Celebrate the achievements of our network and look ahead to what’s next.
