Improving Your
Community Building
Energy Support Service
Practical help at every stage of making your community building more efficient and cheaper to run.
Halls, hubs, pavilions and community centres are at the heart of Midlothian’s communities, but many are draughty and expensive to heat. Improving the the energy efficiency of your Community Building can feel overwhelming if you don’t know where to start. That’s why we’re here!
If you run a community building in Midlothian, we’ll help you find out what would make it cheaper to run, greener and how to get it done without having to work out the process alone.
How does it work?
1. Get in Touch
We’ll come visit your building and chat about your needs. You don’t need to have any specific ideas of what you’d like to do at this stage.
2. Energy Efficiency Assessement
We help you arrange a free Energy Efficiency
Assessment through Business Energy Scotland, which is open to community groups and charities.
3. We go through the report with you
We’ll help you go through the Business Energy Scotland report, explain its recommendations in plain language and help you workout what best suits your building and your group.
4. Find funding and Gather Quotes
We’ll help you identify funding opportunities, support you with applications and get installer quotes appropriate to your case.
5. We’ll support you along the way
We’ll be with you through all these steps and help you decide on the best approach to your specific case!
