Join us for a local screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, followed by a community discussion exploring what the climate and nature crisis means for Midlothian. You and your colleagues, volunteers, members and wider network all are invited!
This event will bring together people from across our network and local communities to hear the latest evidence on climate and nature risks and to reflect on what these challenges mean for Midlothian.
Whether you are already actively involved in climate action, interested in learning more, or keen to hear other local perspectives, we would love to welcome you.

About the film
It presents a clear, evidence-based overview of how climate change and nature loss are affecting everyday life across Britain, and what current research tells us about the risks facing communities and the actions needed in response.
The initiative is explicitly non-partisan and has been supported by a wide range of organisations including the National Trust, the Church of England, the University of Exeter, the Royal Meteorological Society, WWF, the National Education Union and many others.

Following the 50-minute film, we will facilitate a structured 45-minute discussion, bringing together local residents and members of Midlothian’s wider climate action network to reflect on the implications for our communities and explore constructive local responses. We hope this will be an opportunity to connect national evidence with local knowledge, share perspectives and strengthen conversations about resilience, adaptation and community-led action across Midlothian.
