At the end of last year, the Scottish Government published a new draft Climate Change Plan, a critical document that will guide and shape Scotland’s path towards reducing emissions. The draft is now out for consultation and we’d love to hear your thoughts to help us draft our network’s response.
We’re looking for your input on 9 key questions (preview below) that will contribute to our network’s response. This is our chance to influence policy and government action in Scotland.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO ANSWER EVERY QUESTION OR HAVE READ THE DRAFT PLAN.
Your experience and views on what climate action would benefit you and your community are important. You can simply focus on the questions you know about or care about. Any answer, even a short one, is helpful!
Please submit any response by 26th January! The deadline for the consultation is 29th January and we will need time to compile any responses before that date.
We know time is limited and really appreciate your contribution. Your answers will be invaluable for us to put together a response on behalf of the network and of Midlothian.
Remember:
- Don’t feel you need to answer every question.
- Don’t worry if you didn’t have time to read the draft Climate Change Plan
- Any answer helps, even short ones.
- Focus on what you know and/or care about
You can read the full draft here.
Responding to the official consultation
Once you’ve shared your input with us, we also encourage you to respond to the full consultation on behalf of yourself or your organisation. It can even be the same exact answers you’ve shared with us!
Much like with our questions, you don’t need to answer every one nor read the full draft. It’s important that the Scottish Government hears your views on climate action!
Stop Climate Chaos Scotland have published resources to help you respond to the consultation, as well as their own response that you can read here.
