Announcing our Creative Writing Competition Winner!

We’re thrilled to reveal the winning entries from our first-ever Creative Writing Competition and share the incredible climate stories from across our community!

From Penicuik to Dalkeith, Gorebridge to Roslin, we received powerful submissions exploring everything from disappearing wildlife to futuristic climate solutions, personal climate anxieties to hopeful visions of resilience. We received a total of 8 submissions from 6 writers and were truly impressed by the quality of all the entries—it made the decision-making process incredibly tough. Without more delays, let’s get into the winner...

*Drumroll please* And the winners are…

Ian Edwards from Gorebridge (@wild_a_wake) with Winds of Change: looking for a silver lining in a changing environment

And our two runner ups :
Barbara Wood from Lasswade with After the Storm
Kitty Harrison from Roslin with Will There Be Wagtails

Huge congratulations to our winners, and heartfelt thanks to our other participants:

Archibald Clark | Lisa McMillan | S. Mason

We’ll be sharing one submission a week over the coming two months, so you can get as much joy from them as we did! follow us on our social media channels so you don’t miss a story.
