Climate Ready South East Scotland
Is Midlothian ready for climate change?
Midlothian’s climate is changing. Our weather is becoming more extreme and harder to predict.
Climate Ready South East Scotland (CRSES) is a new project to assess how our region could be affected by climate change and what we should do to prepare. We need to become more resilient to the impacts of climate change to ensure that Midlothian can prosper, and that all our communities and places can flourish.
Every community and place will experience climate change differently. CRSES needs your help to find out about the changes you are seeing, and how best to increase resilience where you are.
Climate Ready South East Scotland will enable us to better understand how climate change will affect our region, the key risks and opportunities we face, and where more action and collaboration is needed.
How can you contribute?
Call for Formal Evidence
CRSES climate risk and opportunity assessment will bring together the latest scientific evidence, data and plans from across the region. If you have undertaken any climate risk and opportunity assessments for your organisation, sector or community that could improve the regional evidence base, please share it with Climate Ready South East Scotland.
To do this you can email climatereadyses@sniffer.org.uk before Friday 27 September with links to the documents.
Call for Lived Experience
Communities know the places they care about the best.
That’s why CRSES wants to hear the stories, and the lived experience of how our changing climate is affecting them, their daily lives and their local communities. They’ll be collecting these stories through their Story Map.
Make sure to add your own experiences to it!
